The official glossary, list of abbreviations and list of foreign geographical names, as compiled and approved by the Language Commission. These lists were initially taken over from the tenth, improved and extensively reworked 2009 edition of the Afrikaans Voordelys en Spelreèels (AWS; published by Pharos), but are continuously improved and expanded by the Language Commission. You will therefore find on this page the latest versions of these lists. Feel free to also read more about each list by selecting a list and then clicking on the link next to the list name (the link always reads: "Important user information about the XX" with the selected list's name in place of "XX").
